stacked portrait of a blue bottle fly (photo)

Fantastic. How many photos did you stack to make that one?

very awesome. i wish you had an awesome gradient in the background to make it even more awesomer (grammatical error intended)... but wow! so good!

Ernie,
That's insane! The level of detail is crazy. Congratulations on a fantastic pic.

I'm guessing Mr./Ms. vomitoria was not actively walking about when stack was taken ...? Did you use a MP-E 65mm Macro for the pic(s)?

O_O

Amazing! I bow to your photographic skillz! :)

It was a stack of 68 images using the following equipment:
Camera: Olympus E-620 digital SLR
Lens: Zuiko 50mm F1.8 reversed on an Olympus OM auto bellows
Settings: manual exposure (F5.6 @ 1/125 sec)
Lighting: Olympus RF-11 ring flash (manual; 1/8 power)

....according to his blog linked above in his post. :p

Amazing picture man! I love it! ...never knew they were so hairy!
Andrew

What program do you use to do your stacking? Great shot. 68 images. Man my computer would have a nervous breakdown trying to stack that many.

Wow that's an amazing shot :0o:
