can anyone please give me some idea's for this?

As I remember morning glories twine with their actual stem, not separate tendrils. But what I can't remember is if they have nodes where the leaves connect to the stem, nodes that can activate when a cut is made. I figure you can unwind as much as possible, or (if there are nodes) cut the top part off as much as you want to remove it and get as many nodes on the remaining vine as possible. By doing this you'll get a bushier vine and it should recover ok.
