sweet those are doing well! although they are considered bromeliads, these do not get water in their central cup right? they don't even have one i don't think..
nope they like water from their roots.
that looks like half a year's worth of growth maybe more, that is fantastic. i remember people not even getting roots by a month's time, how do you do it?
Roots are already there a lot of people dont know that theres no need to root them in water. Once you twist the top of the pineapple start pealing the leaves off around the base about 4 to 5 rows worth this will expose the roots i was talking about then they go straight into the ground. Try it yourself you will see how easy it is.
cool I may give it a shot the next time i buy a pineapple. what kind of sun do these things like to grow in?
they like full sun
So many plants...so little time

I have them in full sun.
Pineapples seem to do better when grown from seed. The seeds can be a little bit hard to find on a mature pineapple, but most do have one or two. Pineapple plants grown from the tops never seem to reach the same level of maturity as their seed grown counterparts--the plants just seem genetically "tired." It takes about four years to grow a pineapple from seed, but I think it is worth it. But, your plants are looking very nice for a top-grown pineapple. Best of luck!
