paph question

do these things only bloom at mature or near mature size or will they bloom when lil? have a small one i picked up when i was in Florida in Sept 2008.....steady grower but MIGHT be 6 inches across.....thought i had awhile yet before it was gonna bloom but i saw when i was home at lunch that it is sending up a spike......

The can only bloom when mature, but depending on the species/ hybrid yours could already be mature.

Yeah, Mature. I'll Leave Cindi (SGcvn69) to answer the possible species.

Some Paphs are small when mature, but you could also have a vigorous seedling that blooms the fastest.

I bought a mini compot of Paph. fairrieanum plants several years ago and they had a wingspan of no more than 5" when they began blooming. That seemed to be their adult size. Dwarf Paph species are awesome.
