Phalaenopsis for hydroponics

I recently got into hydroponics and while i was at my local Hydroponics shop, i saw that they had a set up of orchids in  hydroponics sytems. I have bought some Phalaenopsis as well as a hydropnics kits that can accomidate 6 fairly large plants such as the orchids i had bought. I was wondering if i can put them in the hydropnics systems because what i have read with phalaenopsis is they are prone to root rot if over watered.

The reason most serious orchid growers don't use a hydroponics system is because one sick plant could transfer its mess to all the other plants in the system. I grow my Mtdm's in semi-hydroponics (s/h) and they are loving it--and root rot is virtually eliminated. Here's some info: http://www.firstrays.com/hydro.htm
