That purple coloration is the blue sky reflecting on the shiny red tops or sides of the pitchers. Some of the dark red to black pitchers can be quite glossy! It is notieable to the naked eye, but most people sort of filter it out. The digital camera sort of makes you see it.

Hi Trent. It's S.x mitchelliana x leucophylla pink. Pitcher start off white, then turn pink and finish a deep red and magenta. The areoles literally look luminous.
It went into tissue culture last year and is a kind of British Judith Hindle [img]http://www.**********.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/new/smile.gif[/img]
