People were getting worried about the little guy. He's doing fine and here's a recent photo taken earlier today. New growth occurring...maybe a second pitcher developing to the right side.

I'm also contemplating growing ceph from seeds. However I read that you need to give them a cold stratification for 8 weeks before sowing? Curlingguy will you share your experience when sowing? How many seeds did you use? What was the percentage of success from those seeds? This will give me an idea how many seeds to sow.

Your little Ceph is really coming along! I'd love to try growing some Cephs from seed but it seems that the seed is hard to come by.

The seeds had been stored in a fridge so I did not cold stratify them. Including the ones I gave away I'd say some 200 were planted.....one grew........

oooouch!
If it was like this in the wild cephs would have been extinct a long time ago...
I know they are hard to grow from seed but 0.5% germination?
Maybe keeping them in the fridge damaged them or perhaps some smoke should be used?

Good Job!!!
To be fair, ONE of my seeds sprouted right off the hop and died within 48 hours, so that puts it at 1%
Man, that little fellow is CUTE- maybe in 5 years it will be big enough to trade a cutting or something
