    seeds were started in March 2009. Keeping them warm and well lit on a long photo period prevented them from going dormant. Them moved them outside to re sync with the normal seasons.

    Have you tried osmocote pellets in the soil? I did that with mine... a CPN states how to do this, and there is quite an acceleration in growth. The treatment group faired much better than the control group.

    Aloha Phil,

    I did try the osmocote fertilizer and it works. Just if you over do it I tend to get a moss, liverwort explosion and they overrun the seedlings. Finding that burring the fertilizer pellets may reduce this explosion

    A S. rubra hybrid



    It seems to be showing a lot of similarities to S. rubra jonesii



    S. 'Judith Hindle' a young pitcher before it turns darker


    S. flava with a fly( Calliphoridae if i had to guess)


    S. rosea (S. purpurea venosa var burkei) form luteola
