must be nice.. we still have 2ft. of snow here.

I second that mass. I watch this stupid thread here every year from Cleveland, and I don't see any signs of life from my Sarracenia until May at the earliest.

I discovered another on the otherside this morning. Gotta Love the Greenhouse and the Early Spring...

I’ve got several buds poppin’ up all over the place. It’s nice that spring is right around the corner. Here are some of the better shots:

Looks good Joel. That S. x catesbaei looks really vigorous. Am I counting 2 pitchers and flowers from one growth point?

Yeah, that's correct. Although, it seems like the growth point is slowly dividing into two as the point itself seems to be getting more oblong since the two buds emerged. I am surprised to find that this one is so ahead of the game.... even ahead of most of the flavas and oreos when all of them were kept in the same conditions. ???

Where are everyone else's pictures!? Certainly, some of our more southern growers have buds/flowers. :pics:

Let us all cheer to a happy and productive growing season! (Unlike last year... :glare:)

Wow, great pictures! Although I have to say I am surprised Texas is ahead of Southern CA. Usually we are a good 3-4 weeks behind. I already have 3 open flowers and I have tons of pitchers that are about a week from maturity.

Here's what I got showing a bud so far. It's still early in the season for me though so there may be a few more to add to the list.

S. Lemon
S. White Knight
S. Catesbaei
S. flava var rubricorpora
S. Leucophylla antho free
S. Leucophylla Tarnok
S. flava var rugelli
S. flava
S. minor x leucophylla hybrid (exact parentage unknown)
S. Wilkersons Red x open pollenated
S. rubra unknown (exact variety unknown)

Some crosses I am thinking of making...
S. White Knight x leucophylla antho free
S. flava var rugelli x (Wilkersons Red x OP)
S. (Wlkersons Red x OP) x S. Catesbaei
S. minor hybrid x (Wilkersons Red x OP) both of questionable lineage. LOL.
S. flava x flava rubricorpora
S. flava var rubricorpora x 'Schnells Ghost' ... (flowered last year)
S. Lemon x leucophylla antho free
