What is going on with my Bog Witch?

My Bog Witch has been this way all year, no clue what's causing it. I think it may be a pest, but I'm not sure.

It appears like spider mite damage.

thrips damage. The black dots are their fecal matter.

I'll go out and look tomorrow, I uprooted it so I may have gotten peat on it but I will check.

I'm inclined to say thrips. The black specks and the light discolored areas on the leaves as well as the twisted growth are symptomatic of these pests. They are pretty tiny but larger than spider mites. Still they're hard to spot.

If they are thrips I recommend Spinosad as the treatment. See this thread.
