Awesome pics as always, Butch. Your plants are amazing.

Incidentally, I am finally seeing the first shadows of a new pitcher creeping up in my little tequilla division! I'll put up a pic when there's actually something to show.

  • #63
yay! I saw something when I shipped it ;), the minor is putting up a new larger pitcher now, with a very nicely developed nectar spoon.

One of mine has been flowering for weeks. Sorry for the bad quality photo's, but as you'll see it's not very easy to move it!

Wow thats an incredible plant! What is it ionasii?

  • #66
It's heterodoxa x ionasii.

  • #67
Well I was half right :p. Is the heterodoxa part why you can grow it on a windowsill? How much humidity is it getting there?

  • #68
I've never measured the humidity there. I live in NE Scotland, so we don't get particularly high temperatures and get a good night temperature drop. This time of year day length is short, so the pitchers tend to get a little flared and the nectar spoon are a little small. Summer pitchers and spoons are stunning though.

beautiful as always Carl....

any thoughts of pollination attempts?

  • #70
I have thought of pollinating them, but have never managed to extract any pollen... don't have a tuning fork.

rob the neighbors wind chimes LOL
" honey have you seen our wind chimes.... no, bob.... but carl was out there earlier with some scissors..."

  • #72
You see that playhouse at the top of the garden in my photos? Well... that has wind chimes hanging in the apex. So, it would be more like 'Daddy, have you seen our wind chimes?' :D

Wow!! that heterodoxa x ionasii is amazing!!

I really need to build some sort of window display. Just need to figure how to keep the cats away from the plants.. Looking good there mobile.

My very humble contribution.

H. heterodoxa x minor. Seems to be a rather vigorous plant, I'm surprised though, this is the first pitcher I've gotten that has really good color, but it is so much smaller than the previous pitchers. I thought they loved getting blasted with light?

New Camera, First shot of a CP I took with it. :)
Definitely need some practice, and using Lightroom 3 to help a brother out.

Here's a shot from today of my little minor. The new pitcher (on the left) is showing really nice color. You can't see it in this pic, but there's 3 other new pitchers starting.

here's a couple of heliamphora of mine that i'd like to contribute:

heliamphora hybrid, most likely of the H. minor x heterodoxa complex:
