Is that a diluted solution of peroxide or just the full strength version right out of the bottle.

Since that occurance I recommend to others not to mix granular in with their substrate. But to only use it in the root zone or sprinkled on top.

But like I said, it was a single occurance and I use trich every single month on all my plants with great results... so i dont know.

Your substrate does look a little funky, but if its been working well for ya then meh....

In cases like this we try to look for a variable that sets it apart from the rest of the group. If none can be found that one can only assume it came with the plant or a unique combination of factors.

Wish I had a black and white answer for ya..

Good advice from some good growers... Hope it helps,

The only thing that I can think of that sets it apart is the type of peat used. That makes me really wonder. Almost seems like it has to be that or something that came in with the plant. I just hope the vendor follows through with the replacement. And I'm definitely learning a lot from this situation. I totally appreciate all the input from everyone. You guys are awesome!

Definitely NOT right out of the bottle, that will be sure to kill the plant. This might help:

Which can make it a lovely sterile medium for later fungal and bacterial colonization... might be a good start for Trichoderma though

    suite

for me your second substrate is a mulch , may be with a wood piece infected by a mushroom but it seem to me not the trichoderma .

do not use this substrat for the heliamphora.
