I'd be curious about how it would continue to develop. Would it hurt the main plant to leave it in that pot?

I once tried pulling a "winter leaf" from the main plant and accidentally severed part of the plant, creating 2 plants. I just nestled what was basically the losing wishbone portion into the media and made a second plant that adjusted to the treatment.

I've had this plant 3 or 3 1/2 years. It didn't have "mature" pitchers when i got it but they started not long after acquisition.

I put it outdoors to see if I could get it to flower but now it has a dose of Pink Hibiscus Mealybugs, a rather nasty mealybug. If you want to get creeped out major time search for images of entire trees covered with PHM.

    Follow up:

I got around to repotting this about a month ago. I snapped off the bit growing out the drain hole and potted it up. It seems to be doing well, growing non-carnivorous leaves and a new pitcher
