ok, if it were me, to be safe I would cut off the flower, but that is just me. It looks like you have all of your Sarrs in sand only. Or are they just top dressed with sand?

The majority of them are top dressed in silica.

then that is what I am seeing. Why did/do you choose to top dress with silica? I am just asking because I don't, but if there is a reason I should be then I will.

I had a lot of fungus gnats at one point. The silica blocks them from laying eggs in the soil thus stops larva from munching on new roots and in turn stops adults from spreading diseases and being super annoying. Also it keeps the soil moist and cool during the summer. The plants really seem to like it a lot. I like to think it has other benefits as well hah.

Maybe I will try that in a few of my pots. Just to see if I notice a difference. I grow all of my plants outside, so with all of my Drosera and Pings it is almost a gnat free zone, but the cooling of the roots would be a plus.

What's wrong with this picture? S. leucophylla 'Hurricane Creek White'

    S. gilpinii x rubra x minor 'Okefenokee Giant' first time for this one, what to cross it with? S. leucophylla maybe or S. rubra. I could back cross it to my 'Okee Giant'. Or 'Hummer's Hammerhead' or 'Dixie Lace' or....

    S. minor psittacina

    S. rubra ssp jonesii

I have not posted pics in a while, so here goes. The bog sarrs seemed to really like the exceptionally mild winter we had here in the PNW and unusual warm spring weather as well, putting up lots of flowers.
