    Darlingtonia heads

These are a couple of pitchers from the mother plant of "Venom". The pitchers are developing nicely.

Incredible! How tall do the pitchers grow on that monster?
Grand Hotel... always the same. People come, people go. Nothing ever happens.

That's pretty impressive. You ever think about getting a cast of one of those leaves?

Awesome, I never noticed that darlingtonia had silver beads on the head before. Very nice.
The profile pic that you see above is my actual photo. I am a hyper-intelligent snake that has learned to use the internet and I will eventually rule you all.

    Just kidding..... Or am I?

Those "silver beads" are actually transparent windows that confuse insects to prevent them from escaping the pitcher. Some Sarracenia employ this trick as well.

That's pretty amazing, I can't wait until my Darlingtonia is old enough to have some nice sized pitchers, mine are only about 3 inches tall right now.

That is probably the largest Darlingtonia I've seen someone post! Great growing Fred.

FWIW the "windows" are called fenestrations...
