So I decided to pollinate my S. minor and 'Dixie Lace.' 2 days after I did my first attempt all the petals dropped from the flowers. Do I take this as a good sign that pollination was successful?

Did you start pollinating when the flowers began to open? In my experiences, petals usually stay on for around a week. And I believe the stigmas are most receptive early on. I would take it as a sign that it got pollinated though.

I forgot to add: it's a good idea to repeat the process for at least a few days to get a good seed set.

The flowers had been open about 3 and 5 days respectivly. I have continued to keep up the pollination swipes but pollen is looking low now
