My windowsill temperatures drop at least 10oC, but usually more. The temperature is the same as outside really, I dont heat my house during the summer, the helis are are by the window, and the window NEVER closes, its ALWAYS open.(Though it will close in Winter when I will keep my room heated so I dont get too cold, it is my room after all!) My N.maxima is in my room and its growing and pitchering like mad!! My N.x ventrata is doing the same.
Thank you Rob!! Do you really mean 20C??(Or did you put in the wrong number?)
Thanks again! I will flush it with my Darlingtonia every morning, but I will use room temperature water, not cool/chilly water that I use for my Darlingtonia. O.K I will find someone else that does.

It's funny about heli's....My ionasii is doing just fantastic on my deck railing. We've had a not-so-hot summer, in general, but the day time highs in the sun still got into the upper 80's most of the time, even the 90's a few times. This little trooper recovered from getting eaten by my cat ( ) in these conditions.

Yet my other heli (y tepi something or other...forget off the top of my head) is barely clinging to life right now. I don't get it.

Maybe that Illu tepui(I believe you are reffering to that one) comes from higher altitudes, and needs cooler temperatures than your other helli(Ionassi)
Whats a railing?

just because your neps may be doing ok, don't compare them to helis-they come from different environments and are not the same.
i really suggest you get a terrarium.

Ta-da! My Neps are more than O.K, they are producing copper-rish coloured and ruffled leaves, and they are pitchering like mad!! While you may find you can grow Heliamphora on your windowsill.. or you may find you can't. (only one way to know for sure)

PLEASE do not compare them to Nepenthes.. especially N. maxima and N. ventrata which are bombproof compared to Heliamphora!

Tony
Is that a Nepenthes in your pocket or you just happy to see me?

I grow Heliamphora heterodoxa x minor on my windowsill for now. So far it has been doing great, making consecutively larger pitchers. The temperature is usually in the range of 70-80, and the humidity is probably somewhere from 40-60%, but I can't say for sure since I only have a hygrometer in my terrarium.

Since I have only had Heliamphora for a few months, I can't say what the long term effects will be, but if it keeps doing what it is doing now it will be great. My night temperatures do not drop much in summer, but there is quite a drop during the colder months.
