N. Hecuba (in flower)

Hi all,

Here is a N. Hecuba I got this past year that decided to send up a flower. Sorry for the poor pic quality. Any guesses if it's male or female? (Anyone interested in trying to get seed?) Interestingly the latest pitcher is much different from the ones when I first got it. They were much darker and the peristome was shaped like an inverted heart. I suppose that might have to do with great conditions in Hawaii where it was grown previously.

That would be the transgression between lower and upper pitchers. Uppers are generaly less colorful/large than lowers. Nice job flowering that bad boy!

my thorelli x truncata girl is just starting to bud...im sure you can find more mature suitors though! good luck, this guy'll make a great father!
