Tank product lighting Advice

OMG h8 pings
I just wanted to hear some opinions before ordering this product.

My goal is to have a sundew tank at work, and I'm going to go with either a 10 or 20 gallon setup.

This is the light fixture I want to buy... price isn't bad. Do you guys feel it will pump out enough light for dews to be happy?

I was actually thinking of getting this one instead for a while, but I figured I was just paying a lot more for 'antic' bulbs that I didn't really need.

As for other suggestion, the fixture needs to mount to the tank and look nice since its in an office.

Thanks everyone!
Nathan

I haven't tried many different options, but I've used the 20" Coralife 96W 6700K power quad with good results...I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions

Have you tried checking out other sites for cheaper HO T5's?

They usually have some pretty good lighting deals.

Good luck!

LOL. Walmart shoplight with one coolwhite, one full spectrum bulb and a timer switch. Keep 4-6 inches per 2-4 flats, replace bulbs every 7-9 months. Decorate shoplight with contact paper for required aesthetics and spend the other 40 bucks on plants.

Wow, a reply by Tamlin................

I use the 20" 40 Watt Single bulb Satellite Aquarium Lighting System on my 10 gallon tanks. I change the bulb to the Daylight 6,500 / 10,000K bulbs. The plants love these lights.

When I changed out the old lighting I was using, Cool / Warm bulbs, the plants colored up and looked much better.

I decided to try an Aqualight / Coralife Power Compact Fixture - Square Pin - 6,700K - 96W - 20" - 4 Tube on 1 of my 10 gallon tanks. I was really hoping the plants would color up even more with this lighting system, it was on a Ping tank. The plants did not color up at all. When I had to replace the bulb I got a 10,000K bulb wondering if it would make a difference.....No.

I'm disappointed with the performance of this light not coloring up my Pings. I think when I had some Pings under the Satellite they had a lot better color to them. I need to move some back under the Satellite and check, because I've thought about replacing the Aqualight / Coralife for some time now.

For the most part I am using Grolites and typical aquarium light with what shines through yon glass doors from southern exposure - not unlike the glass doors that elgecko has in his kitchen.
