NASC auction is OPEN!!

D.rotundifolia lovers ONLY!

Took a trip out to the notorious sphagnum bog today, and found more than we bargained for. Tens of thousands of D.rotundifolias have popped up within' the past 2 weeks! We collected nothing, and photographed as much as we could. It became difficult to go any further.. due to all of the CP's, so we turned back. Didn't want to cause any damage to the gorgeous scenery. This was our first time seeing CP's in the wild, and man.. it was WILD! :-O

Wild turkey's in the field on our way in..

Nice pics mass!
Just so you know, I believe that the last picture, the third to last, and the fourth to last pictures are all of D. intermedia, which vaguely resembles D. rotundifolia.
That means that their may be some natural hybridization going on between these plants, forming D. x beleziana.
Glad to see that there is a nice portion of land where sundews can safely grow like that.

That is a very cool find. I really like some of those with the red stems going out to the leaf. Keep taking pics it would be interesting to see if they all bloom.

Rotundifolia is the one "common" sundew that I love and don't have a lot of (I have literally 2 small plants)..mostly because I think they don't fare as well outdoors in Zone 9. Odd that this plant which Darwin practically fell in love with has less of a market than others-- I hardly ever see it offered for sale.
