Stylidium semipartitum - tropical species

I was intrigued by the temperate species when I saw them in Western Australia a few years ago and tried growing them. However, the tropical heat sent them straight into summer dormancy...they never woke up and rotted away. :-(

So I got myself some seeds of the tropical species. The first germinated for me last December but the plants are at the moment, no bigger than 2/10". This is the second which germinated for me and I am very excited to share the pics of the seedlings! There are actually dew drops on the leaves! And this is a very very fast grower (compared to the other species). LOL

The seeds were sown on 28 April and they germinated on 9 May.

There are two seedlings in the following pic. No glandular trichomes was observable on the 1st leaves.

A couple of days ago, I decided to transplant them into little individual containers.

As of today, glandular trichomes are observable on the 2nd and 3rd leaves. Each seedling is about 4/10" across.

Wow nice job !!

I grow stylidium petiolare, one of my favorites cps !

I have to see them in nature someday. Here in canada in the wild we have pinguiculas utricularias sarra and of course droseras.

I find that my stylidium gros better and much faster in 70%+ humidity.

Flowers are nothing to shout about but this is my first Trigger Plant after all...so here go the photos!

hi pumpkinface,

Thanks for reminding me...'cos they are not easy to find! These three bugs are all I found on 2 separate plants.

One on a flower stalk

Another on a leaf lamina

The third shows how strong/toxic the dew is. LOL
