D. peltata germination

glider14

Always a newbie
Hey guys!
I asked Mitch a while ago but i wanted to see what others have to say. How do you germinate D. peltata and other Tuberous dews?
thanks
alex

You sow in early fall and they should germinate when the temps drop in winter.

no special trwatment or anything? just sow? on top of the soil on bury it a bit? what kind of pots should be used(how big???) can it be grown on a windowsill with success? my ouside conditions wont work and i dont have a greenhouse. i want to get started on these amazing dews! how long from seed until climbing do you think it will take?
thanks
alex

I just placed my seed on top the soil.
Since they form tubers deep in the soil I use tall pots. They are 3 to 4" in diamater and 8 - 9" tall.
I grow my plants on the south facing windowsill.
Could take 2 years till they start to climb.
