Drosera filiformis filiformis vs. D. x hybrida

    Hey all,

I've got a plant that I got from local grower that was labeled as D. filiformis filiformis, but I suspect that it might be a D. hybrida. This grower also had a ton of D. intermedias growing. The plant in question has leaves about three to four inches long and the flowers seem to be awfully white. How does one determine if it's a filiformis or a hybria?

All information would be GREATLY appreciated!

If you mean D. filiformis var filiformis the difference is quite a bit - Drosera x hybrida has shorter broader, flatter leaves with rounded tips while filiformis has long thin round (cross-section) leaves with pointed tips. The stipules are different too, filiformis again pointy.

hybrida also wraps its leaves around prey. like the intermedia parent. filiformis doesnt wrap.

Yeah, I had already searched the forum before posting... I saw the pics of the Pine Barrens 2007 trip, and I had a hard time seeing the difference between the hybrida there and my filiformis at home. I tried to blow up the picture, but it didn't seem to help much.

I'll have to see if they wrap around prey...
