All I know is that it's really small and the gemmae are a pain to move. I in fact did not even notice when they made some last year, now there's a big pile of tiny leaves trying to grab itty bitty bugs !!

The various species of pygmy sundews vary, from like 3/16" (D. microscopa) to D. scorpioides (1") in diameter (approximately). Most of plants I have are about 5/8" in diameter. That's pretty much it!

Here's what you can expect, generally speaking:

Florabase of Western Australia lists D. occidentalis ssp australis as up to 2cm in diameter.

    http://florabase.calm.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/13190

Unfortunately the Florabase entry on D. occidentalis var microscapa is out of date and unavailable.
