Thanks,

Any ideas on what they are so that I can adjust accordingly? Apparently I should begin questioning sellers to make sure there labels are correct. Watch out fellow ebayers.

Yours look do much neater and symmetrical than mine!

We had some discutions in some past threads aboud this so called pygmaea...yours are the very popular hybrid nitidula omissa x occidentalis (lake badgerup)

Thanks for the correction.

do you have any flower pics of your nitidula x pulchella?...the general aspect of the plant makes me think of an other hybrid

Yes,

I've had some confusion with this one too. I got these from a well respected vendor and did not trust the label either. I thought D. nitidula x pulchella had white flowers. I got some info from others saying that it could also have pinkish purple flowers so I left it with this label. Geez I'm glad someone is a pygmy specialist. Let me know if these are something else too. Thanks.

as i suspected!
that is a omissa x pulchella...(omissa is the new name for ericksoniae)
....and YES on the flower color. my nitidula x pulchella flower color are close to the flowers showen by you. just remember: as a general rule, when nitidula is crossed the cross flowers are still going to have those red stigmas that the nitidula have....on your flowers the stigmas are white like the omissa's

I have some of the same. I believe it is D. omissa (ericksoniae) x pulchella.

I do have another plant that is supposed to be D. nitidula x pulchella but I did not observe the flower and it either died or went dormant after flowering. The leaves looked slightly different than the above.

Very nice looking plant, Mark!

I wish there was some database with pics of all pygmys and their flowers. Too many people have mislabeled plants. We need an expert.

With certain exceptions, many of mine are beginning to all look D. nitidula... and that's as far as I can go. Man, I'd hate to have to say, "Pygmy Sundew"! :-(

I sure wish to find a occidentalis x pulchella flower pic somewhere
Those are great databases NaN but they all missing something: the pygmy hybrids. The hybrids are the problem, they are hard to id ...not the pure sp.

I missed these links:

A few of the hybrids are there, you just have to dig through them. Some don't have obvious links but you can find them.

Some of the others can be tracked down in Barry Rice's galleries and buried on the ICPS website. The ICPS website has plenty of photos that you have to dig around to find as they aren't always indexed.

I found a nursery that is selling D. pulchella x nitidula (reverse from yours). In the description it states the flowers are pink.

EDIT: My mistake Mark. I thought you were referring to the nitidula x pulchella. I overlooked your other post talking about the occidentalis x pulchella.
