You always have some of the most impressive and amazing macro pics on here, what kind of camera do you use?
I have an Olympus E-510 that I bought slightly used on ebay with the 2 kit lenses: the zuiko 14-42mm and the zuiko 40-150mm.
To get macro photos, I use an old nikon 50mm lens (for a 35mm manual film camera) and reverse couple it to the front of my 40-150 lens. This provides strong magnification, but does produce vignetting around the edges of uncropped photos. Here's a descriptive link: http://www.booleansplit.com/?p=168
Instead of hand-holding the 50mm lens, I got an adapter ring on ebay which allows me to screw the 50mm lens onto the front. 98% of my shots are done without a tripod. This usually requires full sun and a good spot where I can steady my body.
Holy crikey...just looked at your flickr album...awesome photos!!
Next time you're in the Buffalo area, bring a camera and take pictures of my plants!
