All of these plants are great choices (and I need to find a ****zy somewhere soon!), but I'd have to say my favorite sundew is D. regia. It may be a pain in the butt for me trying to grow it, but the pics of those huge, dewy leaves seal the deal.

Whatever I can grow successfully, LOL. I love them all, from temperate to topical and hard to pic an absolute favorite.

My favorite. Nothing catches my eye more than a pot full of capes. Don't get me wrong, I love the collectors specimens too. But everyone has a cape for a reason....because they are awesome!

I think mine would have to be Drosera caduca. No one seems to grow it, but so far for me it has been nothing but easy and it is probably my favorite sundew in my collection.

I think if more people saw D. schizandra near it's peak, they'd quickly demote D. regia to number 2 (IMHO - of course).

However, to answer the question - I've got to cheat and name a group of species - the Petiolaris Complex. Just look at D. kenneallyi or D. ordensis or D. derbyensis or D. paradoxa or D. falconeri or (gasp!) a hybrid like D. "Ladle" .....

If I had a knife at my throat and had to choose one, I'd pick D. kenneallyi - but wow --- an incredible group of plants. With the possible exception of Sean Samia (not sure how many he's still growing?) or Chuck Lyon (who I understand has stopped growing), no one today is really showcasing the group & doing them justice (again imho).
    All the best,
    Ron

I agree with you Ron. D. Schizandra is at the top of my must have list. Availability is the only thing holding it back.

@RL7836, thats one of my goals as a grower is to have multiple specimens of every sundew in the petiolaris complex. I think i'm doing pretty well for someone who has only been collecting them for about a year IMHO but I totally agree with you, the petiolaris complex is where its at
