I've germinated D. falonceri, D. paradoxa and several hybrids. No special treatment, just sown into pots, bagged and put in the tank with the rest of my Petiolaris plants. They like higher temps to germinate than I normally keep my tanks, thus the lower germination rates. I've given seed to several growers and they've had success germinating them.

Sean Samia who is probably the best petiolaris complex grower in the US posted these tips:

Grand Hotel... always the same. People come, people go. Nothing ever happens.

The plants don't look as good right now, but here are some pictures from the summer:

rcl27 and Not a Number - thank you very much for your help! The seed is such a precious commodity that it is not something I want to risk planting in ignorance.

Very nice, jimscott! What species is the third one? 'Looks like D. kenneallyi to me but I'm not sure. A hybrid, maybe?

That was one of Sean's hybrids: a falconeri x caduca.

That looks cool how it is almost a cup trap. I am hoping all of my pollination works out. I have been pollinating kenneallyi at the moment but my falconeri, broomensis, and paradoxas just started opening up. My lanatas should also be opening in the next few days. I am thinking I am going to keep them all species only but I might spare a few broomensis flowers to mate with my lone falconeri. I haven't been able to find that hybrid yet. Well that search consisted of just going to cpphotofinder but close enough to a thorough Internet search! Haha.

I am very tempted to say 'it looks like a bit of x and a bit of y' but without actually having seen the same plant it would just be a guess. I would say it is cool-looking and I suspect it is a hybrid.
