Filiformis

I got a filiformis through mail and planted it, it has been near a week since I have gotten it but it has not produced any new growths. Two of the growths it has are decaying while the other has a small bit of dew. Is this just transport stress?

Sounds like it's just adjusting. As long as the conditions are ok it should kick back in another week or so.

One thing to consider is that with fall approaching the plants are getting ready for winter. At this point I'd be less concerned with new growth than with hibernacula formation.

This is my thought as well. It's probably not decaying so much as preparing to go dormant. The lower temps and photoperiod of fall usher this in. What zone are you in?

Im in MA and mine is still producing New Dewey tentacles, but it took a good week or so to produce new growth after the old one died off from the tips down i just cut them off as they turned black/brown and eventually it was producing new growth from the crown. It now has been getting alot of growth growing. Give it some time if yr temps aren't that low yet it prob is just adjusting to yr location and your temps and not being tossed around during shipping. :)
If it is going dormant then as long as its the right temps to allow it to do so then i wouldnt encourage it to break dormancy yet unless you'd want to, if all goes well it'll come back when temps are higher and the seasons change the light levels and whatnot.

Connecticut here, mine is still growing new tentacles and a flower stalk, but the tentacles are shorter than they were in July. I hope it gets to full size next year. Yours is probably in adjustment, but I'd be worried if it goes more than two weeks like that.

My D. 'Portland Sunrise' went dormant middle of July. All my NJ location Drosera - D. filiformis, D. intermedia, and D. belezeana (now D. x eloisiana) go dormant by end of July or early August. My Florida D. filiformis are still going strong and usually don't go dormant until the end of August if at all.

Pictures would help.

Relocating a plant by latitude can effect dormancy timing.

I am in NY but the thing is the filiformis also came with a tracyi which is doing very well. The generic one for some reason isn't. The growths it has are slowly decaying while the tracyi is still growing strong.

I have pics but no idea how to upload :(

Mine has not produced new leaves for about 2 weeks. It has been 30+ during the day and around 20C during the night. I bought a hibernaculum in spring. It was growing nicely. I am suspecting either preparation for flowering or hybernation due to shorter days. I am in Slovakia.
