D. intermedia 'florida'

My D.intermedia 'Florida' went into hibernation with no external stimuli. I have it in a ten gall. aquarium with D. capensis, D. spatulata, D. adelae, and Ping. primuliflora. The light levels, water, and temp's were the same and yet D. intermedia 'Florida' went dorment in Jan. and is just now coming out. I was wondering if this was possibly a genetic trait? Jack
