Hey all, I was just wondering out of curiosity, does anyone else grow D. sessilifolia here? Recently acquiring this rare drosera I was just wondering if anyone has the pleasure of growing this gem?
Yep, I grow these. I probably got the seeds from the same person Nep G. did
You know who you are! I went with the germinate them in water technique. I ended with a massive clump of about 30 of em. They sure do grow slow! I sowed some burmanni seeds, and they've already grown large and flowered while the sessilifolia are still tiny.
Yes, I too have grown it for several years now. At least it is not as prone to dying back after flowering as is Drosera burmannii, and it is a nice shade of dark wine red.
Hi Pingman, I do plan to collect the seed anyways, being it quite a treasure in my drosera collection along with my D.Echinoblasta's. I plan to take evasive action to reproduce both of them (Echino and Sess). Burmannii will mostly likely be in a pot by themselves and I will simply re-sow them seed in the same pot to keep a stable colony in it.
