Mommy D. adelae dying,

Is it normal for the mother D. adelae to die off after sprouting offshoots? Both babies and mother plant are growing in same greenhouse, same soil medium, same water tray. Baby offshoots are coming out of the soil almost one a week, and looking mighty cute;), but mother plant for past month has not grown much and over the past 3-4 days looks like it's dying. Her leaves are all pretty much turning brown and wilted, except for the center most shoots.

Any words of wisdom out there?

well atleast the babies are doing good
I would not throw it out for a long time it still might live

I've heard of adelae dying for no apparent reason and coming back from the base a few weeks/months later.

Peter D'amato said that it's typical after a few years the parent plant would die, replaced by the offshoots.
