    Not that I am aware of. They grow in pure sand almost in the wild and the roots are quite long. I have them in 1 gallon Nursury pots BUT any pot is ok I have found, just the plants in the larger pots grow better and bigger. I would plant them in peat and sand IF you have sand, if not use crushed up perlite, WEAR A MASK , just put it in a bag and smash it with your hands, this will make a finer grade soil medium.

    I think 1/3 peat and 2/3 silica sand would be better than LFS.

    edit - Thanks Dustin! I've got some extra PVC pipe from my experiment (see 'custom ventilation system' in the terrarium forum). A 10" PVC pipe should be fine for these gemmae, correct?

    Hmm, that would be neat! My pots are about that deep....I'd have to measure them, sure give em a try in that! They do ok in a regular pot too, just better in a deeper one. [img]http://www.**********.com/iB_html312/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif[/img]
