    hey...my D. spathulata is growing a stalk now..its about 3-4 inches above the rest... my question is ... how long before it flowers? im already really excited at just the thought of being able to grow more! please help me out... =)

    It will be several weeks, at least it was in my case. Did you get it from PFT? If so, you should have lovely pink flowers. =D

    does it still need a lot of humidity... the stalk is growing to the top of the gold fish bowl i stuck over it to keep in humidity...

    It would be a good idea to provide relatively high humidity for it, especially if you want the flowers to open. I find that 50-60% humidity for the plant is ok, but the flowers need higher humidity in order to open all the way, closer to around 100%. I put an inverted bottle over the flower stalk with a smaller cap full of water underneath in order to accomplish this. [img]http://www.**********.com/iBhtml/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif[/img]

    Pulling this post up to answer Pat's message. Remember, most Droserae self seed even if the flowers do not fully open.

    I like using the flower stalks for propogation, instead of hoping it will set seed.

    D. binata needs another non-related plant to to pollinate it however if I'm correct.
