I was given a few of these plants last spring and kept them outside until mid-November. Then I brought them inside for the winter. I noticed that each of the 3 plants in the pot died or died back. But right next to them are 3 green plants. Am I imagining things or does this species produce new plants from the roots?

im pretty sure this species comes back from the roots. i have a couple also but they have yet to die back, course do to my setup they get babied a bit more than your plants.

Yes they come back form the roots. A great way to propagate this plant

I thought I lost all three. What a reflief!

You will get a lot more of them now and they come back to size quickly.
