    you know i just did that today. i chopped off about 200 leaves like a lawnmower and threy them in some water outside in a tray. a couple drops of superthrive for the hell of it.

    they are marston's dragon.

    Have ya tried anything resembling what I do with the 50 ml centrifuge tubes? don't even chop them up. I just place the whole fork in there and fill it up with deionized water and cap it. A few weeks later, 15-20 growth points. Then I ship it out. It also works with D. filiformis. Actually, anything works with those two!

    Any idea where a non-scientist could get ahold of 50ml tubes like that?

    Go to a lab and ask would be my bet. Actually Jim might send you some if you ask nicely. Or maybe some other scientist will also. Actaully Jim I have been meaning to ask do all your tubes at work have to be sterile? If so how often do you have a "popped bag".
