I'm dumbfounded on how long fiber sphag and perlite could even keep the plants from falling over. I'm still having issues finding un-treated perlite in my area though. And I don't think the miracle-gro will work well with these.

    cexshun,

you live in chicago if im correct, i dont think that nepenthes will do well outside with the temperature and humidity fluctuations we get here all the time. i keep my plants in a plant cage just to keep the humidity on the 80% mark. esp. for the lowlander, they dont trive on low humidity.

I've replanted them in pure LFS. I didn't pack it down at all. The closest place I've found with perlite is a 30min drive. I'll have to go out there this weekend and pick up some soil supplies.

I have noticed a huge difference then with pure peat. With the peat, I only have to water every 3 days or so. My sars in miracle-gro peat/perlite(I know, but they seem to love it) need watering at least once a day.

Also, is there a problem if they are transplated into a pot that is much to large for them? Say if they came in a 2inch pot and I move them to a 6inch pot since it's what I have lying around.
