Always a newbie
Ok I have heard so much about tissue culturing but then again I know nothing about it. What is it? How is it used? Is it easy to use for beginners? Basically the only thing i know about it is that a soultion(liquid) is involved. Is this solution easy to obtain/make.
thanks,
Glider

the solution is agar, which comes from seaweed, and it has hormones and nutrients in it.

the flask the plant tissue is in aswell as the tissue itself has to be absolutely sterile or else fungi and bacteria will grow. The growth hormones have to be in the right porportions aswell or else mutated plants can occur.

Is agar avaliable commercially?

it sure is.

i "think" you can get it at the grocery store? someone please correct me on this if i'm wrong.

even if you can't get it at the grocery store, you can get it online.
