3 years in the life of a Nepenthes rajah

I just compiled some photos of various stages of one of my N. rajah growth and I thought you might like to see them.

Thanks for looking.
-Jeremiah-

wow great! whats the total diameter on it now?

gotta pic?
smile.gif

i have one but its only 'bout 6-7 inches but grows faster than the 2-3 inchers

Puts paid to the myth that rajah is a really slow grower.

Great work!

Now can we see it in time lapse photography?

Good heavens! That is one fantastic plant! Wow! Congratulations on a job well done. Jeremiah, you trully have the touch!

I see it put out a new pitcher, that one must be the biggest one since the frost. Congrats! Is your greenhouse okay since that Huge frost this year?

That raja looks great! But just too slow for me
smile_h_32.gif
. Life is short, and I can't wait around 6 years for a plant to mature. Maybe if I can get a 12" raja, it'll be mature in 3 years
biggrin.gif
. Someone need to create some hybrids with this species. Hybridized with an easy, fast grower that'll mantain the size and look of raja. That'd be awesome

Jeremiah,

Great series of photos ... illustrating plant changes and your growing skill.

Keep up the good work,

As always, great photos Jeremiah. That plant sure has grown happily! I still don't understand what the fuss is about rajah being a difficult slow grower - each new leaf my plant puts out is at least 30% larger than the previous one, and its robustness makes it unstoppable.

Cheers

wow thats one healthy plant all 3 years of its growth. I am guessing that rajah has a growth comparison to truncata considering its slow growth.

Very nice, Jeremiah. Your plant looks very happy!

Wow, Jeremiah I never get tired of your plants! You must have a HUGE green carnivorous thumb ;) You have the happiest looking plants ever. Keep up that great work
