Hi Everyone,
With the cool nights of winter many of our plants are showing winter colors. Pitchers are darker and more intense in color compared to their summer counterparts.
Here are a few example pics Michelle shot today in the greenhouse.
N. mirabilis echinostoma normally during the summer these are red like a coccinea, but in winter they are almost black.
Fancy hybrid seedlings are showing rich colors too. Here's N. thorelii x trusmadiensis- can't wait to see this baby all grown up.
Here are 3 different seedlings of N. thorelii x truncata
This is one of our N. (northiana x veitchii) x Tiveyi. The spotting on the pitcher is more intense in winter. Some seedlings have red maxima/northiana-like spotting, while this seedling has more orange/coral/pink overtones.
Our gold/green N. veitchii lowland looks the same in both summer and winter.
Enjoy the pics.
