Spiders are the only bug I can't feed to a nep, they are cool. I had a spider once made a mini web inside a pitcher

, but a fly fall in and dragged the spider along with it.

The spider slipped though my web. He won’t be that lucky next time.

I had this poacher move into one of my pitchers. Way too cool to disrupt nature in progress.

I wonder how it is that spiders sense that a pitcher is good hunting grounds. I'm always finding them in my pitchers, both around my Sarracenia and in my Nepenthes. Could it be that they smell the nectar bait or something? I'd figure that spiders endemic to wild pitcher plant populations would know what's up, but I don't know why all the spiders around my house are in on it too.

It must be the aroma from the dead insects that attracts spiders?
