Danser's Nepenthes Monograph reprinted

Howdy All,

This might be old news but I hadn't seen mention of it. Natural History Publications of Sabah Malaysia has reprinted Danser's Classic 1928 Nepenthes Monograph The Nepenthaceae of the Netherlands Indies.  This book has been highly sought after by Nepenthes scholars and essentially impossible to obtain for a very long time.  Cost is only $36 US though postage to the US will cost about $20.

NOTE :  Large outlets like Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc typically don't carry NHPs excellent books and if they are even aware that it exists will typically list it as "out of print".  I expect a few of the carnivorous plant vendors might carry it at some point but don't know of any yet.

Thanks for the heads up-I definately need it for my botanical library! I LOVE NHPs beautiful books.

Any idea if it'll be illustrated (at least with the classic line art) or new photos perhaps?

I expect it is illustrated with the original line art though I have not seen the book.  NHP's description does not mention new photos but does say

"with an introduction by Charles Clarke, information on the major taxonomic changes and additions that have taken place since 1928 brings the reader up to date and makes Danser’s work both accessible and compatible with recent treatments"

By they way, this book and more recent but already classic Nepenthes books can be ordered directly from the publisher's website at http://www.nhpborneo.com.  My expereiences with their service has been excellent and it is easy to pay via credit card.

Cheers,
Rich
