thats actually a nepenthene in its "natural state". pitchers rest on the ground liken that til the plant starts to vine. ours hang because in most cases its impractical to have our neps potted in 24" pots
if i were ruler of the world, anyone who defined a nepenthene as a "companion plant" to orchids would be fired from a cannon atop mt. kinabalu.

Are you thinking of N. ampullaria?

I barely have enough room to grow all my plants in 4" and 6" pots...

I was going to suggest N. ampullaria as well.
