Since Steve called me a tease I felt like I should post some pics of what everyone likes to look at, the peristoma. Even though the purpose of the pics was to show the waist coming in and not the peristoma.

And the entire plant, if you notice it is inflating 2 new pitchers, in its 12 pot that I just found out needs to be repoted into a new 12 inch pot. This one is showing signs of sun damage. I just cracked the rim.

Not as big as some out there I am sure, but still a rather nice plant non the less if I do say so. Thanks again Clint for the trade!!

I dunno CPSinATL. I grow just about everything in 12 inch pots to give them room to grow. Some are in smaller slat baskets and mesh pots though. I too would liek to know how big a pot a full grown truncata really needs. Also to these guys vine regularly? I know LOL said on pitcherplant that they kinda start to look like a palm tree after awhile. Is that because of poor culture?

At that Atlanta Botanical Gardens they have a few very large - and I assume old - truncatas that are flowering. They aren't vinning like the bicals, alatas, or any number of random highlanders in the next room.

I was drivin' through Atlanta two days after Christmas and it was freezing. I assume you guys are growing your Neps in a heated greenhouse. How ofetn do you have to use your heater? I know this has been a "mild" winter, but how often do you have to use your heaters? Can you get by with growing them outdoors all year long?

MFH My heaters are used every night. I have them set on a thermostat to come on when it gets to 60 or below. The lowest it gets is about 55 normaly. The high temps are 80 then the fans kick on. There would be NO way to grow them outdoors all year here.

Clint the two ladies at work callmed me perverted because I was looking at my truncata pictures. They said it looked like a sex toy for a guy!!!
