Cindy...you are inspiring me to try Cephalotus again. Do you grow them drier or very wet? Perhaps this is the key. I grew mine in peat, sphag, and perlite...as it seems you do. I grew some in full sun and some in 50% shade 9with the Neps). Neither worked.

Or maybe you have a very resilient clone.

Mine is in a 6" tall plastic drinking cup. I topwater about once a week, making sure don't water the plant directly. It seems to work.

Manny, this plant is in LFS and perlite. I water (overhead) only 2-3 times a week but my humidity is mostly above 50%. I have gotten large plants recently and will be growing them under the same conditions.

In a year I would be able to tell if I
    1. had a heat resistant clone
    2. if the large specimens will produce hundreds of tiny pitchers too!

I would say go ahead and get yourself another Ceph. If it can grow for me, it can definitely grow for you! I live in hot temperatures year round with very little night temperature drop. At least Florida is cooler. That I am sure 'cos I've been there!

Oh, I forgot to add. Overpotting helps! And no black pots!

Overpotting...makes sense. I was sitting mine in a saucer of water. Maybe that was no good. Thanks for the tips guys.
