Washing mulch

  • #22
I heard that the stringy part of the bark is good for seedlings and can be used as sort of a peat substitute. Never tried it myself though.

Personally, I like to use for my helis and neps. Tonight I planted my new B. reducta in nothing but cypress bark

Home depot.com has it where it says cypress mulch blend. Good to go?

J,

From the cypress blends I have seen, that is likely a mixture of bark and heartwood.. which should be just fine. Just be sure and read the packaging, or get the mfg name and do a google search for their website.
