Flytrapshop.com Sanguinea, 18 months later...

DrWurm

Californian in DC
Has it really been that long? The years go by so fast...

Here it is the day I unpacked it:

18 months later I needed to do some rearranging and pulled it out for a photo shoot. It's finally starting to grow upwards after going sideways for a while.

btw, you grow it outside?

No, but I used to. It did very well and colored up great. Now I grow it indoors under T8 fluorescents since I'm going to be moving in the fall.

Sunlight is the best light for photography, so I shoot my plants outside when I can.

Very nice! What size have the pitchers increased from and to?

The pitchers were around 2 or 3 inches tall when I first got it. The latest one is over 6 inches, and recently the plant put out a huge leaf, almost twice as wide as the previous ones. I'm waiting for that one to develop its pitcher.

here it is now after being repotted and moved YET AGAIN (not as dry as it looks in that photo LOL)
its in a 10" net basket, which it is sharing with another N. sanguinea 'orange' of equal size that i received from Macamus awhile back when he was giving it out.

Mine has done better the more light it gets, and has been very happy outside, going from about 6 inches across to almost 12 in a couple months. I haven't yet found the point of too much light - we'll see if it ever gets there. I do wish the pitchers would color up more - they're just tinging reddish, and its supposed to be an orange variety.

Nice N.sanguinea DrWurm mine from flytrapshop.com looks pretty much like yours and with the increase in light it's making better pitchers it's such an easy Nep, but it still looks pretty nice I think too. =)

Another new pitcher:
