N. veitchii xx tiveyi

DrWurm

Californian in DC
Plucked this plant up from an ebay auction last week. Damn she's sexy. Most of the versions I've seen of this hybrid don't keep much, if any, maxima influence. Not so, here. This one has some clear purple splotches on its sides and back.

And get a look at that nice golden-orange peristome.

The plant definitely has a lot of veitchii influence (75%). The leaves have a slightly truncated look, and the stem and pitcher are both covered in short, bristly hairs.

So there's that plant that you've been talking about for oh-so-long.

Now I see why you were so excited about her .

Beautiful wurm, that was a steal for what you paid!

Wow, VERY nice! What's the diameter of the plant?

It's a rooted cutting and is around 8 inches now. It has nice, long roots too, so I'm pretty sure it's very healthy

The color of the peristome looks very nice. beautiful pitchers.

Nice. Your pics of it are a lot more appealing than the ones I saw on the auction - I'm more than a bit jealous now. :D

Very nice.
I have the reverse cross, looked like yours when I got it, but did a huge change in shape and color this summer.
Mine has reddish yellow leaves. Is veitchii one that needs shade to prevent bleaching of the leaves?

ive got one too. same people. love those guys. I planted mine in 75% bark, 25% LFS, and it is going crazy! A sweet cross...pitchers are beautiful and VERY long lasting.

Gorgeous. I love the mottled brown around the upper pitcher. And the pitcher shape is very nice.
