Variegated N. alata

Redflytrap

"Planting oblivion, beating reason back..." -[Ven 5
I was just stunned when a friend gave me this plant earlier today.
I had no idea such forms even existed. It is a small 3-4 inch cutting in
a 3 inch square pot. It has just two leaves, and an activated node.
The pitchers have been removed, but he left a cut one as an example.
This plant is incredible!

The plant seems to be half green, and half white. Excepting the back of the pitcher...

Just look at that bizarre horizontal red striping!

Just thought I would share with you guys.

N-V!

I love all thing variegated. Good friend!

Tell it sweet things and feed it lots of yummy bugs and get it growing! I would love to see some pitchers. ;)

Wow that's beautiful!!!!!!!I didn't even think they existed

awsome! that's really cool!

That's really cool!

Jack: I was gawking at a variegated Nep. alata at my very first BACPS meeting! I think that it was that same clone. If you ever get a basal or two... :-O

That looks more like a house plant than a nep ! Nice find ~

Thanks guys. I am just concerned about what conditions to grow it in long-term.
I have it in a set-up for my cuttings and divisions etc. However, I have no idea
how I should grow it afterwards. ie: Is it a lowland, intermediate? Maybe even highland?
If someone can tell by the pitcher provided, could you perhaps come up with
an idea of what its status may be. I really do hope to grow this plant to its best health.
-Thanks

I'd say if you don't know, grow it in intermediate conditions. I've had a fair amount of luck with forms from the lowlands and highlands... alata isn't a picky plant.

Good Luck. :)

Simply WOW!!! Spectacular, we need this north of the border ;)

Do we have a professional TC'er in the house, this plant needs clones!
