Nepenthes 'Red Dragon' arrived!

Ngantnier

Formerly pond boy
The N. 'Red Dragon' I recently ordered arrived! It came in pretty good shape except one leaf was damaged.

The whole plant:

Very Nice! This is one of my favorites in my collection. Also one of my most vigorours growers.

Hey Frilleon do you have pics of your plant I could see?

Update for 05\10\10

Thanks for the pics Frilleon! How big is that pitcher? I hope mine get that colorful as they mature.

Very nice looking Red dragon there. How easy is that hybrid to grow? I may have to try one of those some day, lol. I would have to grow it as a lowlander though.

Seems to be pretty bomb proof so far! I've just had it out on the patio once temps stayed above 38*f and it hasn't missed a beat! Every leaf so far has either produced a pitcher, or is currently inflating a pitcher. It has produced 5 leafs so far in my care since february and 2 pitchers. The first pitcher was 2 inches and really drab, this second pitcher is just a tad over 3 inches and starting to color up. Also the plant seems to be speeding up quite a bit now that temps have been in the 90's in the day and 60's at night. I bet it would do well as a lowlander as the parents are both more or less intermediate (bokorensis and truncata)

Also I forgot to mention it has already produce a basal for me which now has 4 leaves and is 3 inches in diameter, it produced this about 2 weeks after I gave it a cup of joe, though this might have just been coincidence.

Sounds like a very nice and easy grower. Now I just need to make room, LOL. I'm being over run by neps, hahahaha

Nice Kentasaurs! The "digicamo" pattern on the inside of the pitcher looks cool. What are you planning on crossing your plant with?

That pitcher is about 3-4in tall. Mine seams to stay squat (short and tubby vs. long and skinny). It's great to see the variability in these plants!

Kentosaurs, you're RD looks quite different than the others. My RD looks like the others, but I bought it from a site that displayed a picture much like yours. I wonder how many RD clones are out there? Especially with the number of different plants that have been labeled thorelii?

I've so far seen 2 types of red dragon which both are shown in this thread. Long and skinny and also mine which is kinda short and stubby. So if i would to guess how many clones i would say 2. Just a question here, do different clones have the same sex??

I got this guy from JustJack like a few ago, and took this picture last week:

This new leaf popped up in a week and something here is not like the others:

I put it directly under a 105 watt CFL and it's pretty much getting the best of 6900 Lumens and gave it a hit of ferts upon getting it, and it's been 3 weeks and I've gotten two new leaves and a pitcher already.

Good thing your plant is outside, I imagine this hybrid has some serious potential.
